Shiloh
Echoing the lyric genius of such notable songwriters as Van Morrison and John Hiatt is Bill Deasy, of Shiloh.  The power of Deasy's lyrics and voice along with the group's unique musical blend, give one the sense of a timeless band.  Shiloh's songs use a formula that has worked for ages; strong lyrics, a message that anyone can identify with and a tight melodic rhythm section.

Early in 1990 drummer Jerry Goldenson caught Bill Deasy playing solo at a local club.  Jerry was so moved with Bill's performance, he decided to form a band around Deasy's writing talents.  Goldenson then brought in bassist Kevin Kilp who graduated from the Berklee College of Music.  Kilp had played in several bands known for their complex cover tunes before joining Shiloh.  Eric Riebling heard Goldenson needed a guitar player and sat in on a few rehearsals.  He liked the style and joined the band.  Riebling recently cut tracks with the Affordable Floors on MCA Records.

"I really take writing seriously," says Deasy.  "I like it to be regimented, to feel like it's my life.  I take every day experiences and apply them to my writing.  I've always wanted my songs to be relatable yet commercial."  Both Goldenson and Kilp feel that Deasy's songs are the stuff hits are made of, straightforward and simple.  Kilp also adds, "...and with this band I realize it's not how many notes you play or how intricate the part is, with a lyricist like Deasy, musically less is more."  Riebling says, "Bill's lyrics really inspire me; I can relate as if I were the character he is singing about."  Summing it up is Deasy, "We strongly believe in our plan and trust the direction we are heading."
